“Mini” GLAD® Unit Design for Today’s Classroom
Bigger is not always better. Come and learn how to design a GLAD® standard-based science, social studies or ELA thematic “mini” unit that yields robust content and language results. We will take a deep dive into how the OCDE Project GLAD® model approaches unit development in today’s educational reality. We will guide you in the selection of a choice number of connected GLAD® strategies that support academic content and literacy outcomes including student products to be assessed with a teacher-student created rubric. This training is open to K-12 teachers already trained in Project GLAD® as well as those who are new to the framework.
AIM4S³™ Math Framework

Cultivating Mathematical Thinking While Maximizing Your Math Materials
Explore how to use your math program materials to reach more students by developing conceptual understanding and flexible math thinking. Examples will be from the K-5 iReady math program but will be applicable to any math program. You will leave with concrete plans on how to strengthen your math instruction and maximize your math materials. This training targets K-8 math teachers and coaches.
Early Childhood GLAD®

Developing Oral Language Through Early Childhood GLAD Strategies
Are you looking for strategies to build students’ language comprehension and oral language skills? During this interactive session targeting K-1 educators, participants will experience Early Childhood GLAD strategies, have an opportunity to try them, and plan for their implementation in their classroom. Two of the strategies will include the GLAD® Picture Dictionary, which builds vocabulary and background knowledge while reinforcing decoding skills, and the GLAD® Narrative Input Chart, a powerful strategy to build literacy knowledge and develop students’ oral and written language skills. Come learn how Early Childhood GLAD can increase student engagement and add powerful tools to your teacher tool belt.
